We only ship within the US and Canada. The contiguous United States is FREE. Hawaii and Alaska is $600. Shipping to Canada is $100. Are the bikes water-proof? minus plus

The bikes are not water-proof, they are water-resistant. I am loving my Portola! The quality is apparent from packing to assembly. Plenty of power, gears shift smoothly, and I took the advice of other reviewers and replaced the seat with a more cushy ride. My only negative is that as a 71 year old, petite female, it is the max weight I can handle for loading and unloading. For a huge positive - customer service! I couldn't find the battery weight on the website and the person I spoke to in customer service, weighed one for me! After assembly, I was curious about something on the bike. Supposedly, it was a "thumb bell" but I also replaced that with a more robust bell. Next purchase will be a cargo carrier and out-of-stock, unfortunately so I will pre-order. I look for Value-for-Money and this bike is tops!

I've had my Cafe Cruiser for 2 years now, still loving it and was looking for something I could bring to the beach in the summer. The Portola is perfect! Easy to fold and transport. Doesn't have the same smooth ride as the Cruiser, but that's to be expected. More of a mountain-bike feel to it. Exactly what I was looking for from a company I already know and trust.

I wish handle bar height can be adjustable … also need a custom fit sleeve to protect battery port from rain when transporting the bike

Bike came in and I rode for a few days and then the battery went out. I called customer support and they immediately approved my claim with some evidence and sent me a new battery. I have since put about 50 more miles on it and I am loving it. Folds up and fits tight in the back seat of a Honda Civic and the ride is very smooth and comfortable. I also have dumped it once on the side and after making sure everything was tightened up it still rode great. I definitely recommend this bike and company to new ebike riders!

I recieved my bike on June 26, 2025 after ordering it on the 23rd! Super Fast! It was easy to get out of the box and came mostly all put together with only a few minor things to add on. Instructions were clear and easy. I started riding the next day and have so far put 200 miles on the bike already, in less than a month. I LOVE this bike! It is so easy to ride. I could ride all day on it if I had the time! 🙂 I’ve folded it up several times and taken it to other areas to ride, and it’s so easy to do. I have only good things to say about this bike! It was the best thing I’ve done for my self in ages! Oh, and by the way, I’m 65! It is marvelous to be out on a bike again that I can feel comfident about and ride so easily!

How does the bike* fit? Please share your height/size and the frame type you ordered, if applicable. I'm 5'3" and I was able to adjust the seat perfectly and tho the handlebars don't adjust, they are still just right for me. I just got the standard frame listed with this bike.

Easy set up out of the box. I had problems with it shifting. Installed a new cable and it’s been working great ever since. I love how it folds up and easily fits inside my Jeep hatchback. Everything works as it should. I’m putting on a lot of miles so far without problems. It’s easy to handle and has plenty of power. Great battery life.

I have owned many bikes, mtn, road, cruiser, but this is my first e-bike and really impressed with build quality and performance. I did a fair amount of research and landed on the Portola based on those reviews, good pricing, versatility as a folding bike and Class 3 top speeds (not clear how to do this out of box but see Ride1Up video explaining how to do it, easy once you know how). I am pleased with the choice and no complaints so far (I had had it for 3 weeks). I am about 6ft and the ride height is fine for me when seat post fully extended but think it might be cramped if taller (my 6’3″ son will be test case next week). I purchased the larger capacity battery and can’t really compare but would say for $100 more it seems well worth it. As maybe the most telling comment, I am looking to add another e-bike and would definitely purchase another Portola, or at least Ride1up. Only reason I would choose something other than Portola would be to add a larger size for larger riders, or a different style to switch it up a bit, but otherwise Portola is a clear finalist.

The Portola is an excellent and versatile ebike for the price; frame welds, overall finish, components, and general design are all first rate; Hydraulic disk brakes and Shimano drive train work well.. The extra capacity battery installs and removes easily. The motor is very powerful compared to the 250 watt motor on my other ebike! It has taken me some practice to master the throttle torque so as to be able to start up smoothly, even at the setting for lowest torque (no. 4). Initial operation was easy enough right out of the box, although I did take the bike after the first ride to a local bike shop to have the brakes and headset properly adjusted. The folding feature works well and is a godsend if you don’t have an expensive rack; when folded it fits easily into the back of my VW Golf. At 60 lbs., the Portola is lighter than many similar ebikes, but if you are transitioning from a non-electric hybrid the extra heft of any ebike is worth keeping in mind. The front and rear lights work well although i wish there was a setting for flashing for daytime use.

    Sizing/Fit Notes:

I am 5' 7" and the fit with the Portola is good. The step through frame is essential for me to mount and dismount safely.
