FAQ'S

minus plus
What are key differences between the Roadster v2 and the Roadster v3? minus plus

The key differences between the Roadster V3 and Roadster V2 center around enhanced performance, improved technology, and premium components in the v3.

The Roadster V3 features a more powerful and more quiet 500W angled-gear hub motor (versus the V2’s 350W motor), a superior Intui-Drive torque sensor system refined with the motor and controller for smoother and more responsive pedal-assist (versus the V2’s cadence sensor), Tektro hydraulic brakes (versus pivot rim or mechanical disc brakes) and in addition to the a Dayco Power Carbon belt drive. The chain version features the microShift SL-M819, a premium gear set renowned for its durability and reliability across diverse riding conditions.

Moreover, the V3 comes with high-end features like an integrated, lockable and removable Samsung cell battery, Addix compound, Super Race carcass construction Schwalbe G-One RS tires or Pirelli Cinturato tires, and the advanced Velofox vivid-color display, offering a premium and luxury riding experience at an affordable cost.

What is the benefit of the Intui-Drive sensor system? minus plus

The Intui-Drive torque sensor system offers several benefits that enhance your riding experience:
1. Smooth Power Delivery: It provides seamless, immediate power response based on your pedaling force, ensuring a smooth, natural ride feel.
2. Enhanced Efficiency: Unlike traditional cadence sensors, the Intui-Drive system maximizes battery efficiency by adjusting power output precisely to your pedaling effort.
3. Improved Ride Control: It offers better control over acceleration and deceleration, making your ride more intuitive and responsive.
4. Minimal Maintenance: The contactless sensor design reduces wear and tear, leading to lower maintenance requirements.
These features blended into to the Roadster v3 offer a premium riding experience at an affordable cost. Learn more about Intui-Drive.

What top speed can I expect on the Roadster v3? minus plus

The Roadster V3 is designed to reach up to 28 mph with pedal assist. Unlike ebikes with cadence sensors that provide consistent motor assistance regardless of effort, maintaining higher speeds like 28 mph on the Roadster v3 requires maximum effort and torque applied from the rider. With an Intui-Drive torque sensor system, it responds dynamically to how much force you apply to the pedals, offering a smoother, more natural ride.

Achieving and maintaining peak speeds will require less pedaling effort on flat terrain, but hilly areas or fatigue may affect top speed compared to cadence-based systems. Riders will find the torque sensor makes the bike feel more responsive, intuitive, and engaging – especially at moderate speeds.

Can I test ride a bike? minus plus

We are a direct-to-consumer company both in pricing and strategy. You will generally pay a premium for the ability to test ride through a dealer. However, our bikes have been thoroughly tested by top reviewers such as Electric Bike Review, Electric Bike Report, Cycling Weekly, Clean Technica, Electrek and many others who have published their reviews on YouTube. Additionally, we are now supporting an independent network of owners offering their bikes for demos. Learn more here: Locations.

What can I expect ordering a bike from Ride1Up? minus plus

This article will explain all about what to expect when ordering a bike from us. Ordering With Us.

Can I switch the handlebars to another model? minus plus

No. The variations you see on the site are the only options we have.

Can you ship to _______? minus plus

We only ship within the US and Canada. The contiguous United States is FREE. Shipping to Canada is $400. Currently, not shipping to Hawaii. We are not responsible for any additional tariffs charged by your local government which often times applied after importing ebikes. Unfortunately, we are not able to ship our electric bikes directly to Europe or Alaska at this time. You can use a shipping forwarder like ShopUsa.com to reach your country.

Are the bikes water-proof? minus plus

The bikes are not water-proof, they are water-resistant. While we do not recommend leaving the bikes out in the rain or riding in the rain or other hazardous conditions due to personal safety, the bikes can handle low pressure exposure to water. Do not submerge in water or expose to pressurized air or water. Storing your ebike in the elements could shorten the lifespan of the electric bike.

What tires will come on my bike? minus plus

Due to supply chain constraints from our component manufacturers, Ride1Up may substitute certain components in rare instances such as tires. We meticulously select replacement components that provided similar, if not better quality and value, than the originally listed components. Our current production includes a mix of Schwalber G-One RS and Pirelli Cinturato gravel tires, which are both high quality and listed in our component section above.

Purchased the V3 Roadster Chain version due to wanting a bike that was suited for my size as apposed to the Ride 1UP LTD that only came in one size. I was also looking for a lighter bike as well. When the bike arrived I took it to the local REI (where I had good experiences with them working on my LTD. Once the bike was complete and I took it for a test spin, I was amazed at how well it preformed. The torque sensor was quite amazing and extremely efficient. I admit I was concerned about going from the larger battery and motor that came with the LTD, however I quickly learned that my concerns were for nothing. The Roadster V3 was quite efficient at the lowest pedal assist allowing me at (235 lbs) to get 48 miles out of one charge. Not to mention this bike is fast and the torque sensor made hill climbing no problem at all. I was so happy with the bike that I purchased the single speed belt drive version as well. One of the other things I love about these bikes is that they very quiet and don't look like bikes. Thank you Ride 1Up for continuing to put out bikes that are performance and budget friendly.

Has many upgrades from the V2 which I also have and like. I get quite a bit more range compared to the V2. I'm 220 lbs and can get 45 miles in Eco mode on mostly flat roads. Great stopping power with the Tektro hydro brakes. The torque sensor is very responsive and natural feeling compared to a cadence sensor though both have their advantages/disadvantages. I put on a suspension stem and a pair of Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires for flat prevention. Also clipless pedals because I always use them on my bikes. What I don't like is the proprietary stem with all the cables going through because it makes swapping out that stem very difficult. Also to remove the rear wheel to fix a flat is quite involved and not an easy procedure on the road. QC can be improved. The front wheel was out of true and the rim was not centered between the hub. The rotor was bent and the charger was faulty. I fixed the rotor and customer service refunded me the cost of the wheel repair as well as sending me a replacement charger.

I got two of these, a blue step through for my finance and a black medium for myself . i’m very happy with this bike. I wanted something that didn’t look like an ebike/motorcycle. looks good, has good range, is quiet.

I must admit I was a little skeptical about buying online and sight unseen, but I couldn't have been more wrong. The process was painless, the product was flawless, delivery was as promised and ride is great. The bike has exceed all my expectations and given me fresh start on a loved sport.

I’m loving this bike. Very quiet and nimble. I was surprised by how well it rides without a suspension. I’m very satisfied with the bike.

How does the bike* fit? Please share your height/size and the frame type you ordered, if applicable. I ordered the large because the medium was on back order and I didn’t want to wait. I don’t regret that decision. I’m 5’ 8”. The fit is just fine with a lower seat height.

How does the bike* fit? Please share your height/size and the frame type you ordered, if applicable. I am 5 foot 10 inches but my proportions are a little odd with long arms and legs but a shortish torso. With minor adjustments the medium frame worked well.

The Roadster V3 (9 speed) is my first Ebike and I love it! I am an active 63yo female in decent shape who has always struggled with biking up hills, just sucks the energy out of me. With this bike I can ride big hills for hours and feel like I got a workout but don’t feel like I’m going to die! I love the light weight and the fact that it feels much like riding a conventional bike. This was the best purchase I’ve made in years!

    Sizing/Fit Notes:

I am 5'4" and purchased the small, low step version. Bike fits me perfectly.

Great bike. Super satisfied. Feels quality. Some grinding noise from one of the brakes, but overall the bike is awesome.
